2008 National Barbie Collectors Convention

Kansas City, Missouri - June 18-21, 2008

we've finally made it back to new york after our 20 hour drive. it was an amazing convention and we'd like to thank the entire steering committee for organizing and putting together a first rate show. special thanks to lisa franco, the chair, as well as norita bergmann, joe blitman, nancy hernandez, kevin mulligan, hilda graulau, nichole  fitzgerald and everyone else that has helped during the week. it was truly an amazing experience and we're already counting down the days until d.c. summer 2009.

joey and raphael - you guys are family for us and your help and support is priceless. looking forward to many more eventful convention antics in the future!

when we arrived in kansas city, our first task was to prepare for our open room soiree. we invited everyone to join us for some champagne. it gave conventioneers to preview our delegates as well as glimpse our live and silent  auction entries for charity we love these guys!

sightseeing around kansas city - this is union station - a really cool place with an incredible history. at the time of its opening in 1914, it was known as the 2nd largest train station in the country. it was also famed for "the kansas city massacre" in 1933. this place is a must see when in k.c. - it houses restaurants, shopping, museums, and even a planeterium! (or plane-erium if you watch southpark) across from union station is the one and only monument and museum dedicated to the first world war. yo paula! paula musso of minnesota is/was a fellow long islander! marie and i posing with non-other than famed barbie designer and aficionado, carol spencer
