katie phillips is an associate brand manager for barbie collector at mattel, inc. ms. phillips began working on behalf of the barbie brand in may 2006 while with ketchum pr and officially joined the barbie marketing team at mattel in october 2008.

while at mattel, ms. phillips has managed over twenty licensor relationships, focusing primarily in the areas of fashion and entertainment. she has worked with top designers, fashion houses and studio executives to ensure doll expectations are exceeded from conception to launch. katie especially enjoys planning special events for barbie and attending the national barbie doll convention each year – she will attend her 5^th convention this year in cleveland. ms. phillips graduated from san diego state university on the dean’s list, earning a bachelor of arts in communications, with an emphasis in advertising and business management. before becoming a barbie girl, ms. phillips began her career at london south bank university (lsbu) in the public relations division, acting as the media liaison for special university events in london and surrounding areas. in addition to public relations, ms. phillips has worked in the areas of advertising, broadcasting, and special event planning. katie was a huge barbie fan growing up and especially loved the dolls of the world series!
