Only four months to go until the 2010 National Barbie Convention in Cleveland occurs. NiniMomo is busy at work and has some special plans for this year's Convention...

With the 2010 National Barbie Convention approaching quickly, NiniMomo has shifted into second gear as we prepare for the July event. "Second gear" may be a slight understatement since preparations for these conventions can be grueling. This year is particularly important for NiniMomo as we are the official souvenir doll designers for the convention. Its a complete honor to be recognized and it has been truly exciting creating a prototype NiniMomo doll to be mass produced in limited quantities by Mattel. Originally, Sharon Zuckerman, former Mattel designer, was paired with us to re-create our doll for mass production. Unfortunately, Sharon left Mattel late last summer and since then, we have been re-assigned a new Mattel designer. We were pleased when we were told that Ann Driskill, senior director at Mattel had taken over the project.

We still have not seen the finished product but have been told that it looks "fabulous" and "99% a NiniMomo without a doubt". That's all we know at the present time and trust us, we're sweating this one out since we really want to see what she looks like BEFORE we get to Cleveland. Fingers crossed as the convention creeps closer and closer. We're totally excited to see the official doll as it was completely exciting to create her. Still, we cannot divulge any information on her, however we can say that the convention's Rock & Roll theme does play a role in the ensemble, that mixed with a very couture feel.

As many of you know, its the 25th Anniversary of the "Barbie & the Rockers" dolls which first debuted back in 1985. With their "Reunion Tour" theme in mind, Cleveland became the perfect place to host the convention since its the official home of the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".

For those who do attend the conventions, many of you have seen our past "Live Auction" entries and "Silent Auction" entries and know we have a lot of fun putting together a fantasy. We are very proud to be able to help out the associated charities by bringing in money through these auctions. This year, the National Barbie Convention's official charities are Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital" and "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum". And this year, we have a VERY cool "Live Auction" extravaganza that we hope truly wows all of you attending. We can't tell anyone what it is as of yet, but we can say it mixes both Rock and Roll and our forte of couture fashion. Its a HUGE venture for this one, but so far so good and we hope the end result truly satisfies.

Well, we realize we aren't able to reveal a whole lot of plans that will be debuting in Cleveland, but we are able to give a small preview of 9 of the 60 brand, spanking new NiniMomo Delegates that will be debuting for sale come convention time. These Delegates are not available for sale as of yet but will be debuting at our NiniMomo parties during the beginning of the convention this summer. These will occur before the salesrooms officially open and we will be announcing those dates in the next month or two. With 60 brand new Delegates, there will be more than enough choices for those attending the convention and for our non conventioneer customers throughout the world. If any one is interested in attending one of our parties and is NOT a conventioneer, please let us know and we can inform you of dates and times. Our late Spring newsletter will have more information on the convention, more Delegates to preview and hopefully more information on the official souvenir doll!

We're very excited for this year's convention and we truly thank the convention heads, Dorinda Balanecki and Dwane Adle for choosing NiniMomo as the official souvenir doll artists for Cleveland. And thanks to all our customers throughout the world that continually support us in doing what we love most. There's a possibility there may be some openings for this year's convention and to find out more info, click the "Barbie & the Rockers" logo on upper left corner of this page.
