NiniMomo is constantly creating binders of inspiring images they come across within the world of fashion and are truly in awe of those who create fashion as Art. Having backgrounds in fashion and photography, Nik and Marie are constantly keeping on top of the latest designers, models and for that case, all that goes on in the fashion world, incorporating these new ideas into their pageant collections. However,  sometimes inspiration makes a strong impact regardless of where it fits in the spectrum of NiniMomo. And we present to you just one of those cases.

At last year's ICP - International Center of Photography - Nik and his partner, Bjoern visited their newest exhibition at the time, "Weird Beauty". Immediately the two were enthralled and mesmerized by the hundreds of striking images created of fashion as art throughout the decades.  One photographer and one image in particular grabbed the attention of the two - the famed 2007 "egg dress" photographed by Tim Walker, one of the most talented photographers of the present. It was not only the whimsical styling of the actual dress but the photograph's stark feel and the combination of the two together. Although the photo has been created in 2007, the mood of the image evoked a 60's vibe.

As a Christmas gift, NiniMomo created two special dolls for Bjoern, inspired from this special photograph. Using the 60's themed Pop Life Barbies, yards of tulle and our hallmark hand-sewn beadwork, we created our very own version of Egg Dolls. As cool and couture as they are, the dresses also have a whimsical Easter feel to them. These tulle dresses have been created by sewing multiple panels of tulle in layers upon layers on a base of a short-sleeved organza mini dress. Once completed, the dresses have been accented throughout with shimmering miniscule sequins matching the color of the dress.

Each doll received pantyhose, an organza rabbit eared headband with hand-beaded accents, boots and jewelry that plays along with that 60's styling. Custom facial repaints were the final touches.
