meet lorena, her husband, kevin, pooh, molly and a LOT of barbies!

greetings, everyone! i am lorena sullivan. i have been collecting barbies since 1999, though i have been a fan since i was a little girl.

growing up, my mother always inspired my sister and me with her stories and photos of all the pageants she had been in through her younger years. it was form these stories that my love for designer dolls and ninimomo grew. i like to collect vinyls and silkstones, love my designer dolls and designer brides. when we moved to houston six years ago, i decided we didn’t need a formal dinning room. instead, we converted that area into what is my barbie room today.

	my husband, kevin, called it the reading room, however, not much reading happens there, only playing. kevin helped me  (continuous process) in the design and layout of my displays.

i have several ninimomo barbies that i have acquired since 2009 when i was introduced to ninimomo and nik and marie at the d.c. convention. more than barbies, i have also acquired great friendships: nik and marie, who are extremely gracious designers and hosts, and the reason why my husband enjoys the convention. bev and linda, two beautiful ladies with whom i have connected with very well and now will cherish their barbie friendship forever (BFF.)

my ninimomo collection started with miss new jersey at the 2009 convention (top 10 finisher in ninimomo's doll of the usa 2010!). since then, i have added misses kaliningrad, spain, and the 2010 radio city rockette. this year, i added misses greece, oman, argentina, and silkstones miss utah and alaska. additionally, for the cleveland convention, nik and marie crafted a new york islander ken for my husband, kevin. oh, and i have the 2011 radio city rockette coming shortly!

at the 2010 convention, ninimomo made a custom "sullivan" ny islander for kevin and i received a custom made ninimomo "rocker". these were our table gifts!				five of my ninimomo ladies on display

the 2011 convention was exciting for me since i co-hosted a convention table with linda frauenholz. in addition to the table, i enjoyed assisting nik and marie in their suite with the setup for the ninimomo auction and sales, and photographing the event to capture all the excitement of the convention! even my husband helped out with some macgyver-like tricks for making finicky displays behave.

born and raised in ecuador, i came to the united states as a foreign exchange student my senior year of high school. i have been here ever since. i attended the university of south florida going through their college of engineering. i am now a power plant engineer for GE in texas. kevin and i also have two little bichon frise dogs: pooh and molly that governed our lives and our house.

i like to travel and have done so from a young age with my parents. aside from the ft. lauderdale convention, most recently i have enjoyed a vacation to the galapagos islands. kevin and i spent a week on two different islands taking in the wonders of them including a horseback trek to the rim of the second largest volcanic caldera in the world at nearly 6 miles in diameter: sierra negra.

i just recently celebrated a birthday and of course it was barbie themed!
