2010 convention souvenir doll

In business for over 13 years, NiniMomo Creations specializes in one-of-a-kind customized Barbie Pageant Delegate doll designs. Each delegate reflects designers Nik Moronese and Marie LeBreton’s belief in originality, quality and creativity.

The original Barbie undergoes a transformation characterized by dramatically rooted eyelashes, complete facial re-paint and various hairstyles from elegant upsweeps to custom heat permanents. In addition to facial revision and clothing, each doll is accompanied with stunning jewelry, pantyhose, shoes and many well crafted details that reflect the area of the world she represents.

The company prides itself on creating gowns that are not only elegant and sophisticated, but are practical in the sense that it would be no surprise to see some of these designs on Milan’s runways. In fact, since 2004, Nik and Marie have been incorporating much of their inspiration from many of the world’s top designers such as Christian Dior, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Zuhair Murad, Chirsitian Lacroix, Chanel and Eymeric Francois. From week to week, their customers are able to see couture designs from designers such as Dior transformed into an 11 1/2” scale.

The idea of incorporating a pageant theme with Barbie wasn’t difficult. The two have judged and sponsored many pageants throughout the U.S. and have also worked with many women coaching them for competition. In the past, they have created evening gowns for these women, taking their designs from the plastic 11 ½” body of Barbie to the form of real women.

“Clients are always asking us if we run out of ideas, but the truth is, as long as New York keeps supplying us with some of the world’s most beautiful fabrics, we’ll never have a problem!” Every couple of months, the two go on a wild shopping spree up and down New York’s Fashion Avenue, seeking out fabrics from some of the most popular and the most obscure fabric, bead and trim shops. “You never know what you’ll find on any given day,” said LeBreton. “Sometimes we’ll find hundreds of unique vintage beads from an old shop tucked away in one of the buildings along 37th Street. Other times we come back to the studio with dozens of new silks and brocades from famed designers like Isaac Mizrahi, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta and Badgley Mischka.”

“Each of our dolls feature the most gorgeous hand-sewn beadwork in the market today. Our fabulous beadwork is what has kept us popular for over a decade, its become our hallmark.” NiniMomo has a number of employees who meticulously work on their designs, translating them into stunning hand-beaded one-of-a-kind masterpieces.  “I know that our attention to detail, our knowledge of style and fashion and our hand-sewn beadwork has kept us at the top in the sub-culture of customizing Barbie,”said Moronese. “It’s definitely apparent in the caliber of our clientele. We have customers throughout the world and once a customer buys their first NiniMomo, they keep coming back for more!”

NiniMomo’s official website, www.ninimomo.com contains updated customer, product and ordering information. “We are constantly releasing new dolls each week,”said Moronese. “The web site features detailed photos and descriptions of all our dolls as well as some fun, interactive features.”
