Own the second of our two exclusive Sak's 5th Avenue window display Delegates - a NYC tradition for generations. And, you choose the doll and her area of representation for 2009. Find out how!

There is absolutely nothing like shopping in New York City during the Christmas season. And 5th avenue is the place to be to feel the holiday spirit from head to toe. Along with Rockefeller Center with its statuesque tree and skating rink, 5th avenue is a paradise of some of the world's most elegant and exquisite shops. Many of the larger stores host a dazzling array of holiday themed window displays that are truly breathtaking. It's just one of many holiday traditions that NYC has to offer during the holiday season.  Just across the street from Rockefeller center is famed Sak's Fifth Avenue, an exclusive department store famed for its holiday display windows. Not only are their windows a point of interest but, sprawled across the block-long building's upper floors are gigantic snowflakes that illuminate every 5 minutes and "dance" to the sounds of "Carol of the Bells". It is very cool!

In our Winter 2009 issue, we offered the stunning snowflake hand-beaded gown from Kaufmanfranco, now known as Miss Siberia 2009 as decided by the customer that was first to snag that gem.

Now, we are offering the second of our favorite gowns from Sak's Holiday 2008 window displays, this opulent Zac Posen one-of-a-kind design. This is one dramatic gown encrusted with shimmering beadwork and Swarovski crystal - a perfect project for NiniMomo!

this zac posen one-of-a-kind is truly a masterpiece that pictures cannot capture!

As always, much goes into creating a OOAK NiniMomo Delegate and this particular evening ensemble held no exception. With its multi-tiered skirt, each tier featuring several layers, to its large circumference covered with hand-sewn beadwork, this Zac Posen was a task! NiniMomo documented much of the process which actually took nearly two months to complete.

As we documented this creative process specifically for our newsletter, you can view the construction of this very opulent evening gown

Here you can see the bodice portion of the gown being cut from a shimmering avocado green taffeta. Once the basic form for the bodice has been sewn, the cutting of the ruched bottom of bodice begins. Here we're beginning the process of layering tulle over the taffeta as this Zac Posen requires a lot of layers to create its unusual shading.  Layering tulle over the taffeta.

With the bodice created, complete with tulle layering, the hand-sewn beadwork begins in scattered small Kelly green, gold and chartreuse metallic sequins and seed beads. Once the beadwork has been completed on bodice, we added tiny scattered genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones which will add further sparkle and much like the original.

The bodice alone required over a gross of mixed Dorado, Sage, Avocado and Topaz Swarovski crystal rhinestones. With the bodice complete and the skirting constructed and hand-beaded, the process of adding in more layers of tulle is the next step. In addition, a thick green tulle underskirt has been added to keep this dramatic ball gown full.

And here it is, a work in progress with thousands of hand-sewn sequins and seed beads and over 550 genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones.

As you can see, we are still working on this soon to be masterpiece, and its sure to be a drop dead one-of-a-kind dazzler. Photos cannot truly pick up the sparkle on this gown!

Our Spring 2009 newsletter is offering our customers the opportunity to own this OOAK exclusive replication! Not only can you own this opulent recreation but you will choose the head, hair color, eye color, and lip color for the gown. Where is she from? Well, that's up to you!
