Made expressly for the 2014 IDC, Italian Doll Convention which has taken on an Asian theme this year comes NiniMomo’s Live Ebay Charity Auction Entry, Miss Hong Kong 2014.
Bordering China and the South China Sea lays the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong famed for its dramatic skyline and the world’s best shopping.
Equally, if not more dramatic in her Guo Pei inspired evening ensemble in classic Chinese Red satin in an Asian themed pattern.
Gown begins with a form-fitting body of gown in Chinese satin brocade which flares at knees and features a long train at back.
Gown features gold silk charmeuse straps which have been decorated with frosted genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones.
Gown has been covered from top to bottom in painstakingly hand-sewn clear shimmering sequins all without seed beads to give the gown a lovely sheen.
Gown has been bordered along hem as well as along train in a wide panel of gold metallic lame which has been gorgeously decorated with a pattern of hand-sewn metallic gold sequins and seed beads.
Where satin meets lame, a border of rich turquoise sequins with matching seed bead centers has been added.
Adding even more Asian flair to the gown are two folded crescent panels of same Chinese satin brocade acting like fans and attaching to front of gown.
These crescent fans have also been edged in a border of gold metallic lame and have been decorated with hand-sewn gold sequins and seed beads.
Again, where satin meets lame, a row of hand-sewn turquoise sequins and seed beads have been added.
Fans have been lined in Capri blue silk georgette.
Red sheer gauntlets accompany the gown and feature genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestone detailing along edges.
Finally, an opulent headdress in golden filigree lace edged in gown’s brocade sits atop this Asian Diva’s head.
Headdress has been decorated with a border of genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones and lace features not only scattered rhinestones but a bouquet of fabric flowers bedecked with hand-sewn beadwork and Swarovski rhinestones.
Coming off either end of this elaborate headdress are dual fringe tassels in red which attach to golden filigree Chinese lanterns and genuine Swarovski crystal bicones.
