The work of famed artist known simply as Erté was the inspiration in creating this year’s Live Auction.
Known as the “Father of Art Deco”, Erté was acclaimed for his fashion design and illustrations as well as his set and costume design.
One of his most iconic pieces, “Rhapsody in Black”, has resonated as the quintessential example of the Art Deco movement of the 20’s and 30’s.
