To go along with this year's them of Barbie as a fashion icon, we decided to incorporate another icon, NiniMomo's favorite designer, Christian Dior thus creating our doll: Barbie & Dior - The Marriage of Two Fashion Icons.
Our Live Auction entry for this year was inspired by non other than John Galliano for Dior's S/S 1997 Couture Collection. 
She wears a strapless light pink taffeta bodice edged in delicate tulle along top.
Bodice has been enhanced with a pattern of trailing Swarovski crystal rhinestone vines and buds, as well as the tiniest of roses and leaves. 
Waist is accented in layers of sheared tulle giving way to full and sumptuous ball skirt consisting of alternating layers of black satin and white lace ruffles.
White lace has been dramatically enriched in Swarovski crystal rhinestones in over 1700 brilliant matching white stones.
Back of ball skirt features an exaggerated train also alternating in black and white satin and lace with white lace being dramatically bedecked in Swarovski crystal rhinestones.
Lower tiers of train are wider panels of ruffled lace and have also been decorated in black Swarovski crystal rhinestones. 
Bustle created with a drizzling bouquet of fabric flowers in shades of pink, black, white and green. 
Hair has been custom re-rooted and features an enamel metal and Swarovski crystal rhinestone fascinator complete with a Swarovski edged pair of Barbie's classic sunglasses.
White evening gloves. 
Velvet choker adorned with a gold and rhinestone Barbie silhouette complete with a tiny rose accent.
Drop earrings in mixed cubic zirconia crystal beads, rhinestone rondelles and Swarovski studs.
Beaded bracelets in mixed Swarovski crystal beads and rhinestone rondelles. 
Shoes adorned in leaves, roses and Swarovski.
