This illustrious costume designed for the Chinese opera and worn at Miss Universe begins with a strapless gown consisting of two layers, one in 100% silk chiffon, the other in 100% silk organza in red.
Gown features a dramatically flared hem and sits beneath a non-removable opulently decorated robe of 100% silk charmeuse also in red.
Robe begins with a scalloped yoke in 100% silk charmeuse which has been decadently bordered in metallic gold piping.
Yoke has been meticulously hand-painted in shades of pink, white, red and gold in a detailed floral pattern which has been gorgeously bedecked with hand-sewn beadwork.
Yoke features not only a high mandarin collar but has been bordered at both front and back with custom, HAND-MADE fringe strands which has been knotted and individually hand-sewn onto yoke border.
Yoke connects to the robe which is long sleeved and features three panels at the front, and one at back, all finished in 100% red silk charmeuse, all beautifully bordered in metallic gold piping.
These panels have been painstakingly custom hand-painted with a floral and fern motif which has been accented in hand-sewn beadwork in gold, pink, white and red seed beads.
Long sleeves also in 100% silk charmeuse in red have also been custom hand-painted in a floral motif which has been hand-beaded to match remainder of robel
Robe has been edges along seam and at cuffs in same metallic gold piping.
Additionally custom HAND-MADE red fringe has been created and individually hand-sewn onto sleeve edge.
An exquisitely ornate headdress has been created in golden filigree charms which have been smothered in genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestones, glass mirrors and dangling chain.
Back of hair has been accented with a golden filigree fan covered in gold beadcaps, Swarovski crystal sequins and Swarovski crystal rhinestones.
Drop earrings in genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestone sequins, rhinestones and rhinestone pendants.
