From the nation’s capitol comes a very unique Diva ready to the hit the runway in a very cool evening ensemble still cool a decade later as its inspiration comes from Dior Spring 2000.
Miss D.C. is a stunner in her unusual deconstructed evening gown in 100% pure ivory silk taffeta.
Gown begins with one short cap sleeve and has been constructed in multi-paneling and is form fitting to hips.
At upper hip, a very revealing and very sexy slit has been created. On both sides of taffeta slits, tiny golden eyelets have been added from hip to hem.
Upper portion of slit features threaded lattice closure in black thread which travels about an inch gown and ties off into a bow.
This has been further enhanced with a matching bow of hand-sewn beadwork in black seed beads.
Bodice’s unusual construction features a flap panel that has been custom watercolor painted in a deep pink.
This flap, on both sides has been gorgeously hand-beaded in crystal sequins and seed beads.
Emanating from left top of bodice from edge of flap to right shoulder, unique custom made metal boning protrudes outwards.
Bodice, towards slit, has been accented with hand-sewn lattice patterned threading in black yarn and satin thin ribbon.
Entire ivory silk taffeta gown has been coolly overlaid with delicate black tulle, creating interesting black seams throughout panels of gown.
Flared skirt of gown has been custom watercolor painted with deep pink which has been smothered in painstakingly hand-sewn beadwork in crystal sequins and seed beads.
Accompanying the ensemble is a very unique and very couture 100% silk taffeta hat which has been overlaid in black tulle complete with seams.
Hat features a brim which has been custom watercolor painted in deep pink and accented with hand-sewn beadwork to match gown.
A matching pleated panel that dramatically drapes off to the side has been pleated and custom painted in deep pink and accented with hand-sewn beadwork to match gown.
Very cool white faux patent leather boots feature silver buckle and strap closures as well as lattice ties ups in black tread.
Boots have been custom paint washed to give them a weathered look.
Genuine Swarovski crystal rhinestone studs along with rhinestone heart earrings adorn her ears.
Multiple beaded bracelets in genuine Swarovski crystal bi-cones and black metallic threading adorn the wrists.
