From the South American nation famed for its European influenced architecture and Galapagos islands comes this hot off the press Diva in a replica gown from Galliano for Dior’s latest runway show from 2008.

Galliano was inspired by the famed Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt when he  created this stunning evening ensemble and here it is in 1/6 scale.

Miss Ecuador hits the runway in a strapless gown of matte black satin which is slim fitting to knees where its flares out slightly.

Satin has been puckered and ruched on lower right side creating a play on texture and light.

Beneath ruching, flounce of gown has been gorgeously exaggerated with a large oversized rosette in same black satin.

Gown’s bodice has been patterned, like a Gustav Klimt, in bold geometrics rich in color using metallic gold seed beads with scattered colors of lemon yellow, red, purple, turquoise, fuchsia.

Running throughout front and back of gown are long scrolling trails of gold sequins with matching seed bead centers. Back scroll extends down towards end of train on gown.

Like Klimt, beadwork follows much of his scrimshaw patterning using hand-sewn gold embroidery.

Rich beadwork travels down front of gown and throughout hem in various repeating patterns.

Decadent and Cutting Edge is her replica hat created in felt base layered with a multitude of black fabric petals that have been edged in gold and each bedecked with genuine Swarovski crystals in pacific opal, turquoise, red and aurora borealis. In addition shimmering gold square sequins have been used.
