Mabuhay! from the tropical islands of the Philippines comes this runway show stopper in the epitome of the haute-couture, Alexander McQueen’s masterpiece from his S/S 07 collection.
Miss Philippines wears a work of art comprised of nude sparkle knit that features a high dramatic mandarin collar and oversized fluted cap sleeves complete with boning inserted for form.
Gown is designed with a cocktail length at front complete with a long train draping at back.
A custom made hoop skirt, part of McQueen’s design, has been constructed complete with boning beneath gown.
Gown itself has been smothered in a garden of exquisite flowers. Rich, textured paper roses in shades of deep red, orchid and lavender create a field of color across gown, complemented by fabric petals of carnation and other flowers always adorned with green leaf petals and buds in fabric.
Bodice features tiny, smaller accents of garden flowers and leaves as it trails upwards towards dramatic collar.
Hand –sewn beadwork of tiny crystal seed beads have been added to bodice in scatterings as well as in trails.
Entire gown has been bedecked with trails of hand-sewn crystal seed bead vines abstractly added throughout gown.
Sleeves as well as collar have been also adorned with gorgeous colors of buds, leaves, flowers and hand-sewn seed beads in crystal.
